What the "Hack?!"

Tuesday, 19th of August 2008

Oh my God. What a day today. It's unimaginary what happened. Let me try to explain what happened.

We have 2 cars: An Opel and a Seat Ibiza.
We normally drive the Seat in our garage, and leave the Opel outside. Well that's not what happened yesterday.

Yesterday we had to go to a hospital nearby for my mom. We took the Seat to go there ofcourse. After coming back, we've parked our car on the square in front of our house. We were going to drive the Seat into the garage later on the evening.
Well... We forgot, so this is what happened today.

We got up at 5 am to go to work, as usual. We started leaving the house at 5.40 am, to get our car out of the garage. Dad opened up the garage, but our car wasn't there. 'Doh!' Ofcourse it wasn't, we forgot that we didn't drive the car in the garage yesterday evening.
So... We went back to the parkinglot in front of our house, and we've looked for our car.
We saw a Seat parked nearby, and we thought that it was ours. Dad was pressing his button on the key to open the doors, but nothing happened. Then we realized that it wasn't our car. This car was full of junk and stuff. The color and all the rest was the same though.

We kept looking and looking, but nothing. We were pretty sure that the car was parked on the righthandside, but he was "gone". So... We imagined that it got stolen... Yup... It got stolen.
(Just to give you an idea: There can park about more than 40 cars on the parkinglot, and it's usually full during the evening/night.)
We immediately thought: "This can't be true.. Why is this happening to our car, when it's full of others!"
Anyway... My mom drove me and my aunt to work... And dad stayed at home. He wanted to look some more, maybe it was still nearby, you never know how thieves work.

He was walking around on the street and took a quick look around the corner here. There is a big turn at the end of the street.. And yes. There it was...
Dad was pushing his keylock-thing, and the car opened up.
The car was parked on the sidewalk, and the steering wheel was blocked (autoblock when you don't have the key for the car, or when you don't have a legit key anyway.).
The glove compartment was left open.. But nothing was stolen from it. Mistery?

We have a few theories though:
1. Dad forgot to lock the car (or he pressed his Key twice to lock/unlock). And who knows there might have been walking kids around late at night, to see if there are open cars?
2. Dad did lock the car, but the thieves have some sort of tracer to crack/hack the code? And they had a fake key?
- a - They drove away with a fake key in the contact, but the car stopped after a few meters? (anti carjacking mechanism - The regular key has a chip built in,... When the car doesn't register that, it stops after a few meters, or you can't even start.. Depends)
- b - They didn't start the car at all, but they've pushed it...
We've tested the car without a key. The wheel locks immediately when you don't have the key.

A few problems do come up then:

* We were parked in front of another car, and there was one a few meters behind us.
How did they manage to turn out of the parkinglot? Maybe they had no car in front of them, or behind them, so that they could drive straight through and didn't have to turn much at all.

* How can they turn in that turn when the steering wheel is blocked? Pushing? How? Doesn't work when the lock is on?

It oculd have been that they had a fake key, and that the car automatically stopped and that they've pushed it aside?

I'd go with the theory of the fake key & tracer. The pushing doesn't seem to work to me.

But why did they leave the car..? Why was the glove compartment open but nothing taken out?
Did someone see them in the car, and didn't they want to take the risk of getting caught, so they left? Maybe someone in the house nearby turned the lights on, and that scared 'em? We will never know I guess.

I think that it were amateurs. If it were pros, the car would have already been in a foreign country, or wires could have been cut? Nothing was broken, no force entry, no broken glass, nothing!

I'm glad that it's back...

What a hectic day. I was all worked up at work, that I couldn't even tape up a simple box with tape... Glad that it's all over. And I hope that it won't ever again.

Hectic times

Sunday, August 17th 2008

Evening to everyone who is reading this at the moment.
I've sinned once again! I've noticed that I haven't been blogging for 3 months.
There goes my promise to blog each day, or at least try to blog each day!

Lots of things have been going down in my life. First of, there is 'School'.
There have been some issues with my last internship. The people that were supposed to help me were talking trash behind my back and stabbed me with a knive in the back. Bah. Awful memories to be honest. I was supposed to have my diploma in half a year if it wasn't for those backstabbers, ffs.
Well... I've sent in an application to the school's principal to get another chance to do another internship but it got declined. For stupid, unimaginary reasons. Jeesh.
The conclusion to all this is that I have to go to another school, and that I have to start studying again for 2 entire years!! I couldn't even believe my eyes. I have passed all the theoretical exams, lessons, whatever you can think of. Only that silly internship that keeps pushing me away from my goal!
I really want to have this diploma. The ones that don't even work hard for it, get it! It is making me so pissed. They don't even bother if they have their diploma or not. They don't even care if they are a social worker or a plumber as a matter of speaking. They just want a diploma.
And me...? I want it so badly, and I work hard enough for it and they don't give it to me.
Makes me think about myself: "Is it me? Am I really a bad social worker?"
People tell me that I know my way around people and that I can talk really well with them, but then again.. There are always some rotten apples in between that keep you from your final goal.
Anyway. I am NOT giving up! I want this too bad to give up.
So... All that is left for me to do now is: Study for 2 more years (I can skip theoretical lessons, because I have passed them in another school. So it's basically just 2 more years of internship.)
Actually, it are going to be 2 major Experience years for me. These internships last 8 to 9 months. Much difference than the other school I was in. It was only 2 months of internship. No wonder that they can't see you the way that you are. 2 Months is TOO short to prove yourself worthy for the job. But hey... I better stop complaining. I get another chance, even if it means studying for 2 more years. I am willing to do whatever it takes to get that diploma. I want it so badly.

Yesterday (Saturday, 16th August 2008), some of my friends and myself went to visit a good friend of ours on his apartment. We had so much fun!
We arrived at 7.45 pm at his place, and we stayed there until 12.30 pm. Then we went into town to a local pub to get some drinks and to talk some more.
Playing on the wii for a while (Mario & Sonic at the olympics & Mario Kart) was hilarious. It's so funny when you see 4 people shaking the wii-motes like crazy to win a game! Haha!.
And... We've seen "Family guy" in some sort of movie version. Parody on Star Wars, haha. So hilarious! :D
We have to do this again sometime... :) We talked and laughed the whole evening. A night to remember.
We got home at 3.30 am... lol.

And as for any other news... I've started working again in the plastic factory in Wellen (10 minute drive from here). Just like any other year... It earns really good, and it's fun. Well it isn't always fun, but working can't always be fun, right? It's hard (physical) sometimes, but I'll manage. I'm a touch chunk of .. uhm... I mean. I'm a tough woman!

I've also started playing WoW now. I've finally activated my 1 month account. I forgot that I still had it, lol. I've bought WoW about... uhm... 1 year ago I think. And I never figured out how to active the account. But thanks to someone who helped me out, I managed to get it up and running ^^. Not going to play it much though... Don't have that much time.

Hm... I think that's the basic news nowadays.. Nothing special or nothing of interest came up in the last few weeks or months...

I will post my news up right away, if I have some. Heh!

*Kiss*
